Getting Around

Beyond the vibrant media community, Philadelphia is also an important tourist destination due to its rich variety of historic treasures and its sophisticated and diverse cultural offerings. The city ranks as one of the top five U.S. tourist destinations. There are hosts of premiere art institutions from the Philadelphia Museum of Art, known for its Duchamp collection and the "Rocky" steps, to more eclectic offerings such as the Mutter Museum not to be confused with the Mummer Museum.

Philadelphians live in Center City, not downtown. And each neighborhood is rich in character and full of greenery which will be turning to the hues of autumn at the time of the Conference. It is a wonderfully walkable city boasting some of the best examples of all types of American architecture. Philadelphia also has many community based arts centers that have gallery spaces, small screening rooms and social spaces that is expanding by the minutes with new arts communities rising up in the neighborhoods of Northern Liberties, Kensington and Fishtown.

Conference events will take you to many of these neighborhoods. But consider coming early or staying through Sunday to explore.
