Youth Media

NAMAC Conferences hold unique opportunities for Youth Media Practitioners to participate in workshops and trainings with peers from all areas of the media arts world.

Plus there will be opportunities to share work and new thinking. Forge new relationships and build future alliances for support, advocacy, and professional development. Events include: Practitioner Drop-In Sessions, an Animated Conversation Dinner, Youth Show 'n' Tell and a Youth Media Slam.

Youth Media Slam

Thursday, September 29 from 9:00pm- 11:00pm
Asian Arts Initiative, 1315 Cherry Street

Please join us for a non-competitive media slam where youth from across the country showcase their work followed by a brief Q&A. This will be hosted by participants in Scribe Video Center's Documentary History Project for Youth and the Asian Arts Initiative's Community Byte's media workshops.

Lunch with Spencer Nakasako and Lisa Cortés

Join award-winning filmmaker Spencer Nakasako (Refugee, Kelly Loves Tony) and feature film producer Lisa Cortés (Monster's Ball, The Woodsman) for an informal lunch to learn more about producing independent and small studio film and video work. Sign up at the registration area.

Friday, September 30 and Saturday, October 1 In the Hotel Foyer

Bloggers Michael Verdi, Jay Dedman and Ryanne Hodson will be stationed in the conference area to give individualized, hands on instruction on how to videoblog, demo the tools and provide resources to create and host your own videoblog.
